The Marge Williams Center is pleased to welcome the Bainbridge Island Japanese American Exclusion Memorial Association (BIJAEMA) as our newest tenant organization. The nonprofit is located in Suite 102.
BIJAEMA works to preserve the history and honor the legacy of the 227 Japanese Americans who were forcibly removed from Bainbridge Island during World War II. Through stewardship of the Bainbridge Island Japanese American Exclusion Memorial at Eagledale Park, community outreach, and historic preservation, the organization advocates for diversity, justice, and the protection of constitutional rights. Guided by the motto Nidoto Nai Yoni (“Let It Not Happen Again”), BIJAEMA fosters community education and healing.

The Marge Williams Center, located in the heart of downtown Winslow, provides affordable office space to local, largely volunteer-based nonprofit organizations. Founded in 2001 in honor of civic leader Marge Williams, the Center is a welcoming professional environment where Bainbridge Island nonprofits can grow, collaborate, and strengthen the community they serve.
